"Sculpture is the art of giving shape to an object starting from raw material”. At PHTOBYA, we have drawn inspiration from the art of sculpture to create our eyewear.

For our collection, we chose acetate, a material derived from wood and cotton that immediately captivated us with its natural essence, how its surface reacts to light, and how its colors come to life in our hands.

We selected Japanese acetate, globally recognized for its quality, and with our partner, we developed 16mm acetate sheets, allowing us to craft our frames from solid pieces, not only providing the highest possible technical stability but also endowing them with the incredible identity that only sculptures possess – the full, life-like stillness of a work of art.

The care and passion that guided this first choice also extended to the decision to design the hardware ourselves.

Our designer has shaped the core, hinges, and every other detail to make them unique, personal, and refined, just as any object that accompanies us in our everyday life moments should be.

One more significant decision at PHTOBYA was our continued focus on colors. We carefully selected lenses that complement the hues chosen for the frames and, together, highlight the wearer’s face and personality.

However, we still didn’t feel that we were finished, and upon reflection, we realized that the care of our eyewear had to include one final, essential element – its protection. This is why we decided not only to provide a quality case but also to design and create wooden boxes, offering customers who request them a natural and unique storage option.

For us, PHTOBYA is a project that has absorbed us in every detail, allowing us to deliver a product that speaks to the journey of quality we have undertaken, the passion and time we have dedicated to its creation, and the essence that flows through every PHTOBYA product.
